José Eduardo Velásquez Tarazona

José Eduardo Velásquez Tarazona (born September 2, 1947 in Caraz ) is Bishop of Huaraz .

Life

José Eduardo Velásquez Tarazona was ordained a priest on July 1, 1973 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Obba and auxiliary bishop in Huaraz on March 15, 1994 . He was ordained episcopal on May 14th of the same year by the Bishop of Huaraz, José Ramón Gurruchaga Ezama SDB ; Co- consecrators were Dante Frasnelli Tarter OSI , Prelate of Huari , and Sebastián Ramis Torrens TOR , Prelate of Huamachuco .

On July 1, 2000, he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Tacna y Moquegua . He was named bishop of Huaraz on February 4, 2004, and initiated into office on April 27 of the same year.
