William Dermott Molloy McDermott , also Monseñor Demetrio (born May 10, 1930 in Dublin , † August 19, 2013 ), was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Huancavelica .

Life

William Dermott Molloy McDermott studied Philosophy, Theology and Gaeilge (Irish Gaelic) at St. Patrick's College in Carlow . He was ordained a priest on June 5, 1955 and served in the Diocese of Birmingham , Alabama. For over fourteen years he was a pastor in Peru, including in Huancarama. He learned and studied the local Quechua . He translated parts of the Bible and contributed to the translation of the missal , the Roman Ritual and the Catechism into Quechua.
