The Diocese of Huancavelica ( lat. Dioecesis Huancavelicensis ) is in the central Peruvian Andes situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Huancavelica .
It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Ayacucho o Huamanga as a suffragan .
The Diocese of Huancavelica was established on December 18, 1944 from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Ayacucho o Huamanga.
It covers the territory of the Huancavelica region .
