Life

Martin de Vries grew up in a family of musicians. His mother Doris de Vries (artist name Doris Martin) was the singer in the band “ Wir ” and later in Dieter Bohlen's band “ Sunday ”. Father Wolfgang Ziegler was the founder, singer and long-time leader of the band "Wir" and later successful as a solo artist. After the couple divorced in 1975, Doris Martin left the GDR with her son and married a Dutch music producer in 1979. They later moved to West Berlin.

At the age of 15, de Vries regularly visited the West Berlin- based record company Hansa Records to get the charts from Great Britain and the USA and to get an insight into the music business. At the age of 16, he completed an internship at the Meisel music publishing house. There he got to know the manager André Selleneit, who later became managing director of BMG / Berlin. In the 1980s, Martin de Vries gained stage experience as a lead singer in several Berlin pop bands. In the Hansa recording studio , he was a guest in various national and international productions.

After graduating from high school in 1989, Martin de Vries matriculated at the Free University of Berlin and continued his musical career at the same time. He completed a classical vocal training. Initially with his colleagues Florian Richter (producer of Melanie Thornton ), Kai Diener and Robert Teigeler (producer of Sarah Connor ) he produced his first own professional songs in the studio.

In the following years Martin de Vries built his own recording studio “Pelle Parc Studio” and his production company “MDV Music Production”. Many successful productions followed, including the GZSZ band “ Just Friends ” and “ Funky Diamonds ”. The album production of "Funky Diamonds" achieved gold status in Japan .

In 1997, Martin de Vries met the artist Joy Denalane and produced her first single for BMG . With BMG Music Publishing (now Universal Music Publishing ) Martin de Vries closed a co-publishing deal in 1998.

Martin de Vries has been working closely with Doris de Vries (MDV Management) since 1998 in order to develop and professionally support artists. This collaboration was successful when working with "Samajona" ( EMI ). The band reached the top 40 of the German charts with all six singles and was nominated twice for the Echo Pop in the category “Best National Newcomer”.

In 2006 he started working with his father and the first two singles reached the top 10 of the conservative pop airplay charts . Several productions for industrial films , including the launch of the VW Polo / Tiguan and the Audi R8 , followed.

In 2007 he worked for a long time with the hip-hop group Urbanize , whose first single immediately hit the top 40 of the German single charts.
