Satan s'amuse is a French short film by Segundo de Chomón from 1907. The film was made by the French film company Pathé Frères .

action

The devil is bored. He goes up to earth in a magical elevator. He surprises two sewer workers, disguises himself as a city dweller, and spreads his misdeeds: quarrel with a coachman, argument with a city sergeant, mystification of a waiter, he confuses couples in love. A cage with a young woman catches him and goes down to hell. It turns out that the woman is Satan's wife, who followed him out of jealousy.

Background information

The film was released in Spain under the title Satanas se divierte . In the United States it was published on October 26, 1907 under the title Satan at Play . The film was completely hand-colored.

The film is sometimes confused with Le specter rouge .
