Sauce is the capital of the Sauce Department of the same name in the province of Corrientes in northeast Argentina . The municipality is located in the south of the province and borders on the Entre Ríos province via the Río Guayquiraró . In the classification of the municipalities in the province of Corrientes, sauce ranks in the 2nd category.
history
The name of the place is traced back to a portrait of the Virgen del Carmen , which came to Sauce in the early 19th century. At that time the place began to be called Pueblo de la Virgen del Carmen del Sauce .
