Sauvin

Sauvin is a white wine variety . The name comes from the parents Seyve Villard and Sauvignon Blanc . It is an interspecific new breed by Gertrude Mayer at the Viticulture School in Klosterneuburg . The variety is described as less susceptible to frost with medium-late, extract-rich wines. The variety is said to be very resistant to fungal diseases. Similar in taste to Sauvignon Blanc. The variety is currently in trial cultivation in Austria.
