Sava Šumanović
Sava Šumanović ( Cyrillic : Сава Шумановић; born January 22, 1896 in Vinkovci , † August 28, 1942 in Sremska Mitrovica ) was a Yugoslav painter of the 20th century.
Sava Šumanović lived and worked for some time in Paris and returned to Yugoslavia in 1930, where he lived in Šid . In August 1942 he and 150 other citizens were kidnapped by the Croatian police in Sremska Mitrovica and murdered there.
The “Sava Šumanović” gallery was established in 1952 by a donation from Persida Šumanović, the painter's mother.
