Scalo (born March 20, 2007 ) is a former British racehorse. Breeder and owner is the Ittlingen stud, the horse was trained by Andreas Wöhler . In 2010 Scalo was named Galopper of the Year . Scalo has been in service since 2013.
Racing successes
When he was two years old, he won the race of the Saxon Building Trade Association when he started for the first time . Subsequently, he won the Spring Prize of the Metzler Bank in Frankfurt and the Bavarian Classic in Munich in two Group III races in Frankfurt. Because of these successes, he was named for the German Derby . In the derby, however, he only reached 9th place.
Soon afterwards he won the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano ( Group II in Deauville ), as well as the Gerling Prize, also a Group II race. In 2010 he won a Group I race with the 48th Prize of Europe in Cologne. He was then voted Galopper of the Year 2010.
