Galopper of the Year , usually called Horse of the Year in other countries, is an award for racehorses.
The most popular gallop of the previous year will be chosen. The title has been awarded in Germany since 1957. She was first a journalist choice later by the WDR - sports journalists Addi Furler was taken as the first TV audience choice at all on TV ..
The initiator of the choice was Oswald Heske, at that time PR director at Aral. The election, however, was largely shaped by Addi Furler, who was able to record up to 1.4 million letters to vote in weddings.
