Dschingis Secret (born February 17, 2013) is a German racehorse and was among other things Galopper of the Year 2017 . The bay stallion is an English thoroughbred horse and belongs to Horst Pudwill's racing stable with manager Bernd Dietel and trainer Markus Klug . The breeder is Helmut von Finck .

ancestry

Dschingis Secret was raised by Helmut von Finck at Gestüt Park Wiedingen and is descended from the mare Divya and the stallion Soldier Hollow , one of the most successful racehorses of the 2000s in Germany.

Racing successes

In total, Dschingis Secret competed 20 times and was able to win seven races, including the Berlin Grand Prix in 2017 , the Hansa Prize twice in Hamburg, the Gerling Prize in Cologne and the Prix Foy in Chantilly.

His winnings amount to 482,600 euros, his highest GAG was 100 kg.

In 2017, Dschingis Secret was voted Galopper of the Year by the audience , leaving the notable competitors Guignol and Windstorm behind with a majority of 56.6 percent .

In autumn 2018, the racing career of Dschingis Secret was phased out. The horse will be set up as a stallion in French Normandy at the Haras de Saint Arnoult stud from 2019 . His stud fee is 4,000 euros.

German Derby 2016

At the 147th German Derby in July 2016 in Hamburg, Dschingis Secret galloped across the finish line in third place, after the horses Isfahan and Savoir Vivre . Owner Horst Pudwill and racing stable manager Bernd Dietel protested after the race because the jockeys of the two horses that were placed first whipped their animals much more often than allowed during the race (only 5 lashes are allowed). Pudwill and Dietel therefore demanded a disqualification.

The association's internal racing court of the directorate for thoroughbred breeding and racing initially rejected the action, whereupon the higher racing court overturned the first instance decision and referred it back to the racing court, which, however, does not want to recognize the decision of the higher racing court. Pudwill and Dietel therefore sued the Cologne regional court and want to use ordinary jurisdiction to ensure that the association's jurisdiction respects the decision made by the higher racing court.

Racing stable manager Dietel complained several times that racing had become increasingly unfair and unsportsmanlike and that it was carried out at the expense of the animals. The owners who had their horses flogged harmed racing.
