The East Timorese-Samoan relations describe the interstate relationship between East Timor and Samoa .

history

Samoa participated with police officers in the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT).

Although East Timor is part of Asia , it also has ethnic groups that speak Papuan languages, which is why it also has relationships with the Pacific world. As an observer, East Timor took part in the third ACP Summit in July 2002 and, since August 2002, in the annual meetings of the heads of state and government of the Pacific Islands Forum . In 2014, East Timor's Prime Minister participated in the Conference on Small-island Developing States in Samoa. On May 7th, 2015 the conference of the Pacific Islands Regional Initiative (PIRI) took place at the Hotel Turismo in East Timor's capital Dili . In 2016, the country joined the Pacific Islands Development Forum .

diplomacy

East Timor and Samoa established diplomatic relations on July 27, 2004.

The two states do not have diplomatic missions in the other state. The Samoas agency in Canberra , Australia is also accredited for East Timor. The current ambassador, Hinauri Petana , presented her accreditation in 2016.

economy

For 2018, the East Timor’s Statistical Office does not report any trade relations between East Timor and Samoa.

Entry requirements

East Timorese are issued an entry permit upon arrival in Samoa.
