The relations between the Cook Islands and East Timor describe the interstate relationship between the Cook Islands and East Timor .

history

Although East Timor is part of Asia , it also has ethnic groups that speak Papuan languages, which is why it also has relationships with the Pacific world. As an observer, East Timor took part in the third ACP Summit in July 2002 and, since August 2002, in the annual meetings of the heads of state and government of the Pacific Islands Forum . In 2016, the country joined the Pacific Islands Development Forum .

diplomacy

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on August 17, 2002.

The Ambassador of East Timor in Wellington , New Zealand is also responsible for the Cook Islands.

economy

For 2018, the East Timor Statistics Office does not indicate any trade relations between the Cook Islands and East Timor.
