The Scambos Glacier is a 55 km long glacier in Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . It flows into the Sulzberger Ice Shelf on the Saunders coast .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after Theodore A. Scambos of the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder , Colorado , who has worked as a remote sensing expert since the 1980s on observing and predicting the behavior of ice sheets in Antarctica .
