Sceneo TVcentral
Sceneo TVcentral was an alternative media center software for Microsoft Windows based on the freeware project myHTPC, which was discontinued in the alpha stage . The basic functions have been expanded especially in the area of television reception with DVB ( Digital Video Broadcasting ) and PC video recording ( Personal Video Recorder ).
In the meantime, the development of Buhl Data Service GmbH has been stopped.
Function overview
A GUI suitable for living room is displayed using GDI ( Graphics Device Interface ) and is therefore particularly suitable for retrofitting older Windows versions.
Sceneo TVcentral is particularly widespread in Germany and, according to the manufacturer, has over 100,000 users . Sceneo is a product line from the software manufacturer Buhl Data Service GmbH, which has been developed in a separate division since 2003.
The software is offered to OEM manufacturers in the PC hardware industry for pre- installation in order to be able to use digital TV cards . But Sceneo TVcentral is also available in retail and direct sales. In addition to the software license, the electronic program guide ( EPG ) can be optionally updated via the Internet for a fee.
The freeware Sceneo Bonavista was separated from TVcentral . It is optimized for digital television on the PC and also enables several tuners to be operated in parallel .
