The summit of the Schönberg is located in the Liechtenstein Oberland , about three and a half kilometers northwest of the Malbun town center in the Rätikon mountain range belonging to the western central Alps
Approaches
- From Malbun, the summit of Schönberg can be reached in about two hours, past the Friedenskapelle and the “Sass-Seelein” on the Sassweg over the “Sass-Fürkle” ( 1785 m above sea level ) and through the eastern slope of the Stachlerkopf .
- From Steg via «Bärg» and through the southwest flank of the Stachlerkopf in around two and a half hours.
From the summit cross there is a fantastic view of the Liechtenstein, Austrian and Swiss mountains: in the Rätikon and over the Rhine Valley 1,600 meters below to Lake Constance , across to the Alvier group , to the Churfirsten and to the Säntis in Alpstein .
