The Schüleinbrunnen is a running fountain on Schüleinplatz in the Berg am Laim district of Munich . It was created by the Munich sculptor Julius Seidler and inaugurated on September 9, 1928.
The fountain was donated by the Jewish Kommerzienrat Joseph Schülein and built in the middle of a park named after him. After the First World War , Schülein donated building land in Berg am Laim for the construction of apartments in order to alleviate the housing shortage.
The fountain consists of Brannenburger Nagelfluh . A stone basin stands on four pillars. A fifth, thicker column breaks through the basin. There are four water outlets on this column, it bears the bronze figure of a maltster boy .
