Student mentor
Student mentors are students who have been trained to mentor younger students. The term does not denote a uniform qualification or task.

Student mentoring programs in Baden-Württemberg
There have been standardized student mentoring programs in Baden-Württemberg since the 1994/1995 school year . So far (2002/2003) a total of over 9,000 student mentors have been trained in the fields of sport, music, art, church youth work, nature and environmental protection, traffic education and in the technical and social fields. The technical and social area is offered in cooperation with youth associations , the German Youth Red Cross , ARGE , DLRG youth , Maltese youth , Johanniter youth , youth fire brigade and THW youth with the youth department of the Ministry of Culture.
Independent student mentoring programs of individual schools
Some schools have developed independent student mentoring programs themselves. The mentors are often high school students , but the age group of the mentors varies; for example, 8th grade students are also used as mentors for primary school children.
