The Schützenbund Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim e. V. (OEGB) is an umbrella organization of sport shooters in the area of ​​the former government district of Osnabrück. The association is a direct member of the Northwest German Rifle Federation and thus an indirect member of the German Rifle Federation . It has around 7,000 members from around 80 shooting clubs, guilds and brotherhoods.

The OEGB was founded on April 24, 1924 as "Osnabrücker Schützengau". The seat was and is Osnabrück , where the association's office is located. After the name in the district rifle association Osnabrück-Emsland e. V. was changed, the name was changed at the 2004 delegates' day in Papenburg in order to take into account all the districts represented in the federal government.

structure

The Schützenbund is divided into 10 districts, these roughly correspond to the former districts in the association area. The highest body is the delegates' assembly, which takes place every two years. Management is taken over by the Presidium and the entire Presidium. In addition to the members of the Presidium, the District Presidents and the speakers as well as the honorary members belong to the entire Presidium.

tasks

The task and purpose is the voluntary amalgamation of the district rifle associations in the city of Osnabrück, in the district of Osnabrück, in the district of Emsland and in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim and their member clubs from neighboring areas to form a district rifle association. He is responsible for promoting sport.

The purpose of the statutes is particularly realized by

  • Care and promotion of Sagittarius customs and music

Sport shooting

The OEGB annually organizes district championships in the disciplines rifle, pistol, crossbow, muzzle loader, shotgun and bow listed in the DSB's sports regulations. In addition, round competitions in the area of air pistols and air rifles are held free-hand and edition, as well as three-position competition. There is also a separate league operation. Special competitions and comparison shooting round off the sporting offer. The OEGB awards its own badges for achieving a minimum number of rings in all disciplines and classes.

tradition

The association attaches great importance to tradition and rifle customs. In the clubs and districts there are a number of different customs that have been cultivated from ancient times, such as (district) rifle festivals , eagle and rifle line shooting or firecrackers. 14 music trains are members of the OEGB. The Schützenbundkönigs- und Kaiserschießen takes place annually, the winners of which are honored at the King's Ball. The King's Ball 2013 with the associated ceremony took place in Neubörger . The ladies' days are held every two years, the youth days with youth championship shooting annually.
