The Schützengesellschaft Seebronn 1815 eV is a shooting club in Seebronn .

history

The shooting society was founded by veterans as a shooting comradeship in 1815 after the wars of liberation . The club was one of the vigilantes and belonged to warriors and veterans association Untergäu . The rifle clubs Bondorf , Hailfingen , Mötzingen and Öschelbronn also belonged to this association .

Initially, a bare shooting range with a shooting wall in front of Seebronn served the shooters as club area. In 1837, however, the site was needed as a cemetery and the association had to clear a piece of the "cherry tree" and build a new shooting wall. According to the laws and regulations of the time, shooting was in the hands of military instructors and veterans, and shooting with the Württemberg infantry rifle was the exclusive discipline. In 1881 it was decided to only practice purely sportive shooting. However, this meant that the association had to separate from the site made available by the community and stand on its own feet. Since that year the club has had its current name Schützengesellschaft Seebronn 1815 eV. A separate area was purchased and a shooting range set up and in 1894 the first rifle house opened.

The club became known throughout Germany for its outstanding success in field archery .
