German Chess League 2009/10 (Switzerland)

In the 2009/10 season of the Swiss Bundesliga in chess , three teams had a chance of winning the title before the last round. The selection from Valais led by one team point ahead of Nimzowitsch Zurich and the defending champion ASK Winterthur and maintained the lead with a win against Winterthur.

The chess club Réti Zurich was promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga and achieved relegation, while the chess club Niederrohrdorf had to relegate pointless. For the reported team squads of the participating clubs, see the team squad of the Swiss 1st Bundesliga in chess 2009/10 .

Promotion game to the 1st Bundesliga

The promotion game between the two winners of the second division seasons, SC Lyss-Seeland and Schwarz-Weiss Bern, took place on May 29 in Bern . Schwarz-Weiss Bern won 5-3 and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga.
