Federal Chess League 2019/20 (Switzerland)

The German Chess League 2019/20 is the top division of the Swiss Group Championship (SGM) in chess. Defending champion is SC Gonzen . In the previous year, because of the withdrawal of Echiquier Bruntrutain Porrentruy with the Club d'échecs de Payerne and the Schachgesellschaft Zürich, two teams rose from the 2nd Bundesliga . Dates and venues

The first six rounds took place on November 16 and 30, December 14, 2019, January 11, February 1 and 22, 2020 and were played decentrally at the clubs involved. A competition of the first round was only played on November 24, 2019 due to the overlap with the European Club Cup . The last round was supposed to be held centrally in Payerne on March 14, 2020 , but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and moved to September 5.

Promotion game to the 1st Bundesliga

The winners of the two second division seasons will qualify for the promotion game taking place on October 10th.
