The Schaefer Islands are a small group of islands off the Walgreen coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . The islands are located immediately northwest of the Canisteo Peninsula and 3 km southwest of the Lindsey Islands .

Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map them. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1970 after William A. Schaefer, a geologist who explored the Ellsworthland.
