The Canisteo Peninsula is an icy peninsula on the Walgreen Coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It lies between the Ferrero Bay and Cranton Bay .
It was mapped using aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946–1947) in December 1946. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1955 after the USS Canisteo , a supply ship that was used in Operation Highjump.
