The partially wooded Schafberg has a height of 308.2 m above sea level. NN and belongs to the Frauensee district of the city of Bad Salzungen in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .
The Schafberg is located on the southern edge of today's location, near the church and extends to the east as far as the main road. The flat southern and western slopes are used for agriculture, the slopes in the north and east are populated and provided with gardens and fruit trees.
Karl Eduard Rolle (1860–1930), the last pre-war owner of the estate in Frauensee and owner of the Schafberg, was honored with a memorial stone by his relatives . It is located in a wood near the summit with a view of the lake and the Renaissance castle .
