The Schalenstein Stedtiberg is an erratic block or boulder made of albite - actinolite - chlorite - gneiss near Büren an der Aare in the canton of Bern , Switzerland . “It has the shape of a plate with the dimensions 3 × 1.5 m; on the north side it protrudes 85 cm above the ground, on the south side it is almost level with the ground. On the slightly inclined upper side, about 40 clear, average hand-width, round bowls are buried, most likely a work of prehistoric man, from the time of the large stone (megalithic) culture. The purpose of these bowls has not yet been clarified; one thinks above all of cultic customs. ”Since October 15, 1948, the Schalenstein Stedtiberg has been one of the protected geological objects of the Canton of Bern. Other witnesses during the Würm been initiated in the area of glacial Rhone glacier are the gray stone , the blue stone and the level stone .
