Switching process
A switching process is that process in which there is a targeted change between sharply delimited states. This can be done mechanically or electrically or electronically , for example . Several technologies are often combined.
Mechanical switching operations
A body (e.g. lever , adjusting wheel, ...) is brought into a certain position. The positioning can be done by a mechanical stop or by a positioning system. Depending on the set position, one or more processes are started, stopped or vice versa.
Electrical switching operations
As a rule, mechanical switches are used here to close or open electrical circuits . The mechanical components may also be electrically controlled, for example, a magnetic switch , relay , reed relays , switches , change-over switch , dial switch , rotary dial , etc.
Electronic switching operations
In the electronics , switching is purely electrical. The switching status is determined by the applied voltage .
