An electronic circuit is a combination of electrical and in particular electronic components (for example diodes and transistors ) to form a (functioning) arrangement. It differs from an electrical circuit in that it uses electronic components .

Electronic circuits can perform very simple functions, such as B. the blinking of a lamp or the control of an automatic door. But also many complex technical devices, such as B. televisions or computers are based on electronic circuits, often in the form of integrated circuits .

They are shown schematically in the form of a circuit diagram. In most cases, they are implemented in practice on printed circuit boards , with the components being joined together by soldered connections .
