The Schamschy ( Kyrgyz Шамшы ) is a river in the north of Kyrgyzstan .

The Schamschy rises on the northern slope of the Kyrgyz mountains . It is fed by the glaciers below the main ridge. It initially flows in a north-easterly direction through the mountains. The Tujuk meets the Shamschy on the right. Then the river turns to the north and leaves the mountains and reaches the Tschüital . The river flows through the place Kalinowka . The Eastern Great Tschüikanal crosses the river. The Shamschy flows through the western part of the administrative center Tschüi , then turns to the west and finally flows east of Kenbulun into the Western Great Tschüikanal, which branches off from Tschüi a few kilometers before . The Schamschy has a length of 58 km. The catchment area covers 475 km². The mean discharge is 5.62 m³ / s.
