Schattenmann is a German band from Nuremberg , which can be assigned to the New German Hardship . She is currently under contract with the independent label AFM Records .

history

Schattenmann was founded at the end of 2016 by Frank Herzig ( vocals , ex- Stahlmann ), Jan Suk ( guitar ), Luke Shook ( bass ) and Nils Kinzig ( drums ). Her debut album was released on March 2, 2018 on the Drakkar Entertainment label . Afterwards the band was on tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the opening act of Megaherz .

On January 28, 2019, the band announced that they had signed a contract with AFM Records. The second album's first single was head through the wall . The album Epidemie was released on July 5, 2019. It reached number 32 in the German album charts.

After the very successful start of the “Licht an Tour” in the cult temple in Oberhausen on October 27, 2018, the second headliner tour, the “Epidemic Tour”, was given a year later on October 2, 2019 began in the Wuppertal underground.

style

Schattenmann describe their style of music themselves as “New German Hardness 2.0”. Singer Frank Herzig describes the music as a “typical NDH sound with catchy melodies”. Occasionally, comparisons with Megaherz and Rammstein are attempted for a more detailed description. Individual pieces are attributed to other musical styles by reviewers. Generally, however, in discussions of the music, the group is assigned to the New German Hardship.

The style of music is made up of elements from the NDH, with influences from other rock and metal forms of the black scene . The band is increasingly relying on catchy melodies. The music for the Webzine Metalglory is judged to be "nothing new" in the genre, but the group offers the listeners of the genre "an all-round refreshing work with catchy melodies, rock-hard guitars and cool, clear vocals".
