Look wood

The Schauer Holz is a forest area in Saxony-Anhalt in the Harz district north of the Harz Mountains .

The forest not far from the former inner-German border has an east-west extension of approx. 3 km and a north-south extension of approx. 2 km. The Schauener wood is a deciduous forest characterized by beech , birch and oak . Lynx (2004) have been observed in the forest .

A country road runs through the forest between the communities of Stapelburg and Schauen , which also forms a section of the Romanesque Road and the German Half-timbered Road .
