The Scheerhaspel ( archipelago ) was a German measure of length in various places in Oldenburg , such as Oythe , Goldenstedt and Visbek . The measure was used to measure the coiled yarn for personal use. The purchase reel was used when selling .

  • Goldenstedt, Visbek: 1 Scheer reel (circumference 3 ½ Vechta cubits ) = 2.55 meters
  • Oythe: 1 Scheer reel (circumference 3 11/16 Vechta cubits) = 2.1494 meters

One of the Vechta reelers was smaller and had 3 Vechta cubits. 1 piece was calculated with 20 bindings or 1000 envelopes.
