Sheikh Maksud ( Arabic الشيخ مقصود, Kurdisch Şêxmeqsûd ) is a predominantly of Kurds inhabited Neighborhood the north of the Syrian city Aleppo .

During the Syrian civil war, the district is controlled by the Kurdish People's Defense Units (YPG) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). In September 2013, there was alleged use of chemical weapons in Sheikh Maksud , which is why UN chemical weapons inspectors started investigations.
