In Schiff Classic , marine historians and specialist journalists write on topics such as seamanship & life on board , phenomena & curiosities , the fascination of ships , maritime places and the search for clues . Portraits of historic naval ships and marine historically significant people, as well as contributions to wreckage, take up a lot of space . The magazine concept is based on the detailed, historically precise and ideology-free presentation of shipping and naval history with a focus on the 19th and 20th centuries.
