Ship launch from Össlöv
The Össlöv ship setting ( RAÄ -Nr. Berga 152: 1) north of Ljungby in Kronobergs län is the largest ship setting in Småland in Sweden . It is about 42.0 meters long and 13.0 meters wide and consists of 29 stones, originally there were more. The ship is oriented north-south and the north stem is the highest stone at one meter.
The stone ship lies in the farmland, about five kilometers north of Ljungby between the E 4 and the hamlet of Össlöv. About 100 m east of the ship's position are two grave fields with burial mounds and building stones . In the 1940s, a layer of fire on a building block was examined in a burial ground . In addition to corpse burn, a burnt pearl and a jackknife were found. It is probably the oldest in Sweden and is kept in the State Historical Museum in Stockholm.
