Kronobergs län is named after the Kronoberg ruin near Växjö. The sparsely populated landscape is characterized by extensive coniferous forests, many lakes ( Bolmen , Åsnen , Möckeln (Älmhult) ) and agricultural areas (especially pasture farming).
