The Schiller Bridge is a four-lane road bridge over the Danube in Ingolstadt . It runs along federal highway 16a , which is part of the southern and eastern ring road around the old town.
history
The bridge was opened to traffic in November 1964 in the presence of the then Prime Minister Alfons Goppel . It was built as a second road bridge after the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke to relieve traffic. Planning began in 1961. In 1963 construction began.
location
The bridge is located between the railway bridge and the motorway bridge . On the southern bank it merges into the southern Ringstrasse and in the north into Schillerstrasse, which is where its name comes from.
