List of bridges across the Danube

The list includes bridges across the Danube , from its source to its mouth in the Black Sea . In addition to actual bridges, power plants are also included, some of which are open to private traffic (mostly only during the day and only for cyclists and pedestrians).

Temporary bridges 1945

Towards the end of the war in 1945, Wehrmacht troops, retreating or delaying the advance of Allied troops , blew up numerous bridges over the Danube, for example

The Allies built pontoon bridges or makeshift bridges in some places .

  • Danube Bridge 2 (Bridge "New Europe".) - Bridge opened on June 15, 2013 across the Danube between the Bulgarian town of Vidin and the Romanian Calafat .
  • Friendship Bridge , road bridge between Russe and Giurgiu , river kilometer 488.70
    The bridge was built from 1952 to 1954. Road and rail traffic is routed across the Danube on two levels, one above the other. At 2224 m, the bridge is one of the longest bridges over the Danube. The middle section can be raised from 21 m to 29 m clearance for ocean-going ships.
