The Schwenningen power plant is a run- of- river power plant owned by the Mittlere Donau Kraftwerke AG at the Schwenningen barrage and is operated by Bayerische Elektrizitätswerke GmbH .
The power plant went into operation in 1983 and is part of the Danube barrage Schwenningen at river kilometer 2522.43. The power plant, which is equipped with two turbine sets, is designed for an expansion water volume of around 200 m³ / s. Two Kaplan turbines drive two generators with a nominal output of 4.3 megawatts each with a corresponding standard energy capacity of the power plant of 53.4 million kWh per year. The weir of the barrage consists of three fields and the power house on the left. There is a boat lock on the right bank .
