The Sigmaringen-Laiz hydropower plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Danube . The power plant is located in Laiz , a district of Sigmaringen in the district of Sigmaringen in Baden-Württemberg . The owners are Stadtwerke Sigmaringen , which is owned by the city of Sigmaringen.

The entire system consists of a weir on the left with two fields, the water power plant, a boat lane and a fish ladder .

history

In Laiz, a hydropower plant with an electrical output of 247 kilowatts was built on the Danube weir there between 1998 and 1999.

Together with the Sigmaringen hydropower plant , the two plants together produce an average of around 2.1 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. This corresponds to around three percent of the total electricity consumption. The Stadtwerke invested around 2.1 million euros in both hydropower plants.
