The Bergheim power plant is a run- of- river power plant operated by Donau Wasserkraft AG on the Danube .
The power plant, built in 1970, is located near Bergheim in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district . The electrical output of the plant, which has three Kaplan turbines, is 23.7 MW. The operator is Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH . Only traction current is generated that is fed into the 110 kV voltage level of DB Energie's traction current network via the loco power station switchgear .
