The Bertoldsheim power plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Danube near Bertoldsheim , a district of Rennertshofen in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district . The owner is Donau-Wasserkraft AG. The operator is Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH .

history

The power plant was built in 1967 and serves as a support threshold to counteract further deepening of the river bed of the Danube.

Between October 2010 and the beginning of 2011, E.ON carried out work on securing the freeboard in the storage space of the power plant on official orders .

Technical specifications

The electrical output is 18.9 MW, which is generated with the help of three Kaplan turbines with adjustable guide and impeller blades. The turbines have a runner diameter of 5.35 meters and work at a speed of 76.9 revolutions per minute.

This means that around 124 million kilowatt hours of electricity are generated every year at a frequency of 16 2/3 Hertz. The Bertoldsheim power station only supplies traction current .

In December 2016, the wet test run of a fish pass in the form of a 1150 meter long parallel body of water was carried out. This was finally completed in spring 2017.
