The reservoir Bertoldsheim is the reservoir of the run- of -river power station Kraftwerk Bertoldsheim .
geography
The reservoir is located on the Danube near Bertoldsheim in the market town of Rennertshofen . It has a water surface of about 109 hectares and a maximum depth of 10 m.
Flora and fauna
In the reservoir, the fish are carp , tench , eel , pike , perch , catfish , pike , whitefish , whitefish and cash at home.
The Bertoldsheim barrage excels in its position as a bird sanctuary under the Ramsar Convention . It is part of the Ramsar area Lech-Donau-Winkel . The reservoir itself and the old lakes in its neighborhood are an important refuge as winter and resting quarters for waders and water birds from Scandinavia, Siberia and Northeast Europe. At the almost exclusively ice-free main lake with around 150 ha (of which around 109 ha is water surface) you will find sufficient food, protection zones and resting places. As permanent residents almost all year domestic waterfowl such as are significant numbers of mute swans , coots , teals , cormorants , eider ducks , pochard , tufted ducks , mallards and many more. to observe; as train and rest guests were u. a. Freetime activities
In addition to generating electricity, the lake is also used for various leisure activities. Both fishing and boat trips are permitted with the restriction that certain protection zones can only be entered outside the period from November 15th to March 15th and entry to the bird islands is prohibited.
