The power plant is located near Bittenbrunn , a district of Neuburg an der Donau, and started generating commercial electricity in 1969. The nominal net electrical output of the Bittenbrunn power plant is 20.2 megawatts from three Kaplan turbines . The annual standard energy capacity is given as 122.5 million kilowatt hours.
