The Offingen power plant is a run- of- river power plant operated by Obere Donau Kraftwerke AG at the Offingen barrage and is operated by Bayerische Elektrizitätswerke GmbH .
The power plant went into operation in 1963 and is part of the Danube barrage in Offingen at river kilometer 2556.37. The power plant, which is equipped with two turbine sets, is designed for an expansion water volume of 210 m³ / s. Two Kaplan turbines drive two generators with a nominal output of around 3.7 megawatts each with a corresponding standard energy capacity of the power plant of 42.6 million kWh per year. The weir of the barrage consists of three fields and the power house on the right. There is a boat lane on the left bank .
