The Upper Danube power stations AG is a company founded on December 18, 1958 a subsidiary of the Rhein-Main-Donau GmbH , based in Landshut, which owns six hydroelectric power plants on the upper Danube between Ulm and Dillingen is. The company is owned by Rhein-Main-Donau AG with a share of 60% and Energie Baden-Württemberg AG with 40% . EnBW markets all of the electricity from the power plant.
The company's six power plants are equipped identically. Each power plant has two sets of machines. The machines are two double- regulated Kaplan turbines with a standing shaft and each with a directly attached synchronous generator . The drop heights vary between 5.00 and 6.61 meters, the total output per power plant is between 7.35 and 10.1 megawatts, with an average of 49.5 GWh per power plant and year. The management of the power plants lies with Bayerische Elektrizitätswerke GmbH in Augsburg .
