The Geisling hydropower plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Danube .

The power plant is halfway between Regensburg and Straubing near Geisling, a place in the Pfatter community .

The system consists of a weir and the power house in the southern part of the weir. The height of fall of the barrage in normal traffic jams is 7.30 meters.

The three Kaplan turbines have a total output of 25  MW . The grid connection is made via a switchgear on site at the 20 kV medium voltage level in the power grid of the distribution network operator E.ON Bayern .

The Geisling large shipping lock is separated by an island on the northern bank in the area of ​​the city of Wörth an der Donau . It has a chamber with a usable length of 230 meters and a usable width of 24 meters and a drop height of 7.30 meters and was completed in 1980.

The owner of the power plant is Rhein-Main-Donau AG . The power plant is operated by Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH .
