Kurt Spohn

Kurt Spohn (born July 4, 1935 ) is a former German politician ( CDU ). From 1982 to 1991 he was a member of the Hamburg parliament .

education and profession

Kurt Spohn attended elementary school and high school in Uhlenhorst-Barmbek in Hamburg from 1940 to 1954. He then completed a commercial apprenticeship at Esso AG . From 1957 to 1962 he studied business administration at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a degree in business administration . He then worked until 1984 as a research assistant or, most recently, as a scientific director at the HWWA Institute for Economic Research . He became head of the HWWA's library, which comprises 550,000 volumes. In 1974 he was appointed head of the Documentation and Library Department. From 1970 he belonged to the Association of German Librarians . There he sat in the commission for professional questions and was chairman of the Hamburg regional association. He lectured at library conventions and published articles on specialized libraries .

Spohn is married and has two children.

Political work

Spohn was involved in the Alstertal local committee from 1970 to 1982 . As a representative of the CDU, he also sat in the Wandsbek district assembly at that time . He was chairman of the local association of the CDU Alstertal and deputy chairman of the district association Alstertal, from 1971 to 1972 also managing director of the district association. In the election in June 1982 he won a mandate for the Hamburg citizenship for the first time. He belonged to the citizenry from the 10th to the 13th legislative period .
