Jung Byung-cheon (born December 4, 1986 in Seoul ) is a former South Korean ice hockey player who was under contract for much of his career with Anyang Halla in the Asia League Ice Hockey .

Career

Jung Byung-cheon began his career as a hockey player on the Kyung-bok High School team . In 2005 he moved to Yonsei University for three years . After completing his studies, he joined Anyang Halla in the Asia League Ice Hockey in 2008 . Both in 2010 and 2011 he was able to win the ALIH championship with his team. In 2009 and 2010 he also won the South Korean ice hockey cup with the team. In 2013 he moved to Daemyung Sangmu , the newly formed third South Korean team in the Asia League Ice Hockey. But he returned to Anyang after just one season. After winning the Asia League for the third time in 2016, he ended his career.

International

For South Korea, Jung Byung-cheon already took part in the U18 World Cup in 2004 in Division I and the U20 World Cup in 2006 in Division II. He made his debut in the men's national team at the 2008 World Cup in Division I. He also played in Division I in 2012 , while in 2009 he had to compete with the East Asians in Division II, but achieved immediate promotion to Division I. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
