Poikam is a district of the Bad Abbach community in the Kelheim district in Lower Bavaria .

The church village lies on the left bank of the Danube , about two and a half kilometers west of the main town on the Regensburg – Ingolstadt railway line . The Bad Abbach power plant is located here and the Bad Abbach lock canal begins .

From 1818 to 1971 Poikam was an independent political municipality. On January 1, 1972, the company was reclassified to Bad Abbach.
